The pizza is a food everyone loves to eat. It can be a healthy good for you food. The kind of crust you use as your base is a big a factor. Then what you put on top matters next. Using your imagination you can come up with all kinds of different pizza's.
Pizza makes a great meal and is easy to fix. It doesn't take much time to make a nutritious pizza. You can even make your dough ahead and freeze it to use whenever you need it.
People young and old love pizza!
Making A Tasty Pizza
The pizza dough is not hard at all to make.It is made with a mix of good for you whole wheat flour and all-purpose flour. The reason being if made with only whole wheat the crust is a little tough.
Pizza Dough Recipe-This makes 2 pizza's
You need these ingredients
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 to 1 1/2 cups all-purpose white flour
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 package rapid rise yeast
3/4 cup water
1/2 tsp sea salt
vegetable spray oil
In a large bow mix 3/4 cup of all-purpose flour,salt,sugar yeast and blend this well. In a microwave heat the water until very warm about 120 degrees to 130 degrees.then add to the flour mixture.Beat about 2 minutes on medium. Then stir in the whole wheat flour and 1/4 cup all-purpose flour. Make a stiff dough knead the dough on a floured surface for 3 to 5 minutes.Put in a bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel until the dough has doubled in it's size. Punch down the dough to get out any air bubbles. Divide the dough in half. Put one half on a oiled 12" pizza pan.Spread it out to fit the pan having a little lip to help keep on the sauce.
Let it rise again for 15-30 minutes. Then the fun part put on your toppings. Bake at 400 degrees until crust is brown and cheese is melted.

When putting on the toppings think about your health.
Tomato sauce is the first topping to swirl on your pizza. Use a homemade fresh tomatoes to stay really healthy. The kind in the jar can be natural like Paul Newman Organic Sauce or Ragu organic or light sauce.
It is not hard to make your own special sauce at home.
Homemade Sauce
1 14 ounce can tomato sauce
1 14 can diced tomatoes
1 14 ounce can water
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp.salt and pepper
1 tsp. basil
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 chopped fine onion
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. olive oil
Blend together in large saucepan. Cook on low for 30 min.Take our the bay leaf and spread sauce on the pizza.
If you like your sauce a little spicy add some tabasco to liven it up to your taste.
Sliced or chopped vegetables such as tomatoes,green or red peppers, broccoli, onion,garlic, spinach,olives,lettuce,yellow squash,zucchini squash and mushroom.
If you want a pizza with meat try using chopped roasted chicken or fried crumbled ground turkey.Seafood topping like shrimp is delicious on pizza.
Cheese- Try to use cheeses that are low in fat. Freshly grated cheeses like Mozzarella,paramesian,and chedda are awesome. You can buy 4 cheeses Mexican shredded in a handy package for a Mexican style pizza.

I like veggie pizza. Especially after I learned which veggies to use. Some have too much moisture and wet the dough causing an undercooked effect. Sounds like you know just which ones to use. Thanks for the tasty hub.
How can anyone not like pizza? Once again, a really simple healthy recipe and one that I enjoy. I just talked with some friends from Spain and they mentioned their visit to a New York pizzeria and now I am craving pepperoni and cheese pizza. Great hub with awesome taste!

Great hub and sweet rolling pin. I make pizza once every week but I normally just use all white flour. I'll have to give it a go with some whole wheat. Thanks for sharing.
